Swimmer One have recorded a session for Jim Gellatly’s radio show on XFM; it will be broadcast on Wednesday 17 October. You can find more info on Jim’s show here.
The session consists of new, stripped-down versions of National Theatre, Whatever You Do, Don’t Go In The Basement and But My Heart is Broken. We hesitate to call it ‘acoustic’, but it’s in that ballpark. All three songs were recorded live in one or two takes, which was a bit of a culture shock given that our usual recording process involves obsessively tweaking things for months at a time, but we think we survived with dignity intact. You can judge for yourselves next week.
The original versions of all three songs appear on Swimmer One’s album The Regional Variations.
