Swimmer One: What we’re up to in 2009

We’re planning to release two albums this year, all being well, and are currently working very hard trying to finish them both. The albums are…

1. The second Swimmer One album. Nine songs, ranging from a three minute guitar lament to a ten-minute piano symphony in three parts, inspired by Lou Reed’s Berlin, Kate Bush’s The Ninth Wave, Jane Siberry’s The Bird In The Gravel and Michael Nyman. Yes, we’re well aware of how that sounds, but we know what we’re doing, don’t worry.

2. Andrew’s ‘solo’ album - solo in the sense that Andrew wrote all the songs himself, and most of it is just him and a piano. Hamish is helping to produce it though, and the same string section who are playing on the new Swimmer One album are playing on this one too.

To keep you occupied while you’re waiting, we will shortly be launching a new feature on this website - a free download every week. It won’t be stuff from either of the new albums (you’ll need to pay for that, sorry), but it will be stuff you’ve not heard before.

Thanks for listening. We hope you’re keeping well.

Andrew
