Here are five reasons why you should go and see Swimmer One play live at the GRV in Edinburgh this Saturday, 10 May.
1. It is our first live show since November last year. We will be playing a little more regularly in the months to come; still, we don’t do this very often.
2. It is a benefit gig for the Green Party. So you will, in a small way, be helping to prevent an impending environmental catastrophe that could result in the deaths of millions of people.
3. The first few people through the door will get a FREE four track Biphonic Records sampler CD, featuring two songs by Swimmer One (including our cover of Cloudbusting by Kate Bush) plus two by our hugely talented labelmates Luxury Car.
4. The other band playing, Meursault, are fantastic. Electronic beats, plus ukuleles, plus heartwrenching, emotional songwriting. We are honoured to be sharing a stage with them.
5. We will be debuting three completely new, unreleased songs. We hope you like them.
The GRV is at 37 Guthrie Street, Edinburgh, tel: 0131 220 2987. Doors will open around 8pm. There’s a nice bar in the venue which is a very pleasant place to spend some time if we’re running late. It is about five minutes’ walk from Waverley, Edinburgh’s main train station, and even less than that from one of the city’s main bus routes, so there is really no excuse to come by car. You’ll never find a parking space anyway.
