The Balance Company are celestial consultants. They employ melancholic bureaucrats with an evolved sense of compassion to watch over us. Like a troupe of touring players, Highway Diner convert random objects into props and act out the disasters, the discord, the poignant romance of the human enterprise while Swimmer One look on, singing the song of the ‘good employee’.
