Things might be a little quiet for a short while, but after that they will get much louder. We have two projects currently on the go…
1. The second Swimmer One album. This is already recorded, and just needs mixed. It has the working title of Dead Orchestras, and is likely to consist of nine songs, three of which we have been playing live recently, two of which we played at our recent Radio One session. Some of them sound completely unlike anything we’ve done before. One is ten minutes long. One is two minutes long. We’re quite excited about it. It should hopefully come out early in 2009.
2. Andrew’s solo project, recorded under the name First Minister (it seemed like a good idea at the time). This will be very different to Swimmer One, but he hopes you like it. Hamish is going to help him produce it, since Andrew is hopeless at that sort of thing. At some point he will return the favour. It will be recorded, probably quite quickly, this autumn, for a 2009 release.
In other news, Andrew has been working with a talented guitarist called James, who makes music as Keda, and is likely to end up singing on some of his songs. Expect an EP, or an album, at some point. Andrew and Laura are also writing songs together. On a separate note, Luxury Car are working on their second album too.
So, there may well be a sudden flurry of Biphonic Records releases in early 2009. Watch this space…
Until then, we will play live as and when we get tempting offers. Subscribe to our mailing list if you want regular updates.
Thanks for listening.
